It took me whole five minutes to get upstairs to the bar. I had to stop and enjoy the decor. Street signs, Canada mail boxes, old stamp machine just to name the few interesting objects i saw. They had outside seating area but we stayed inside for AC. Nice views of the water. Haven't had any food, just some local beers. No draft beers at the bar.

This place is horrible. The service staff is rude. The food and drinks are below mediocre. Go somewhere else if you want to enjoy yourself.

We found the place, no wait, friendly service, cold beer and a great soft shell crab po boy. I'll eat here again. No frills. No snobs please. Go back to Sea Island if you want someone to kiss your butt.....

Recently dined at the Blue Water four times over a two week period. Staff is exceptional. From the friendly greeting by the Hostess to the constant attention received from the Owners (Silvya & Ace). Our server was Blaine and he is outstanding. Food was always served hot and was delicious. We highly recommend the Blue Water Café as a destination for dining on the Island. If you only want a quiet drink the Upper Level with a great view of the Ocean is a must.

Very disappointing. A restaurant specializing in seafood and the shrimp is not local Georgia shrimp, I just do not get it.

When we arrived we told the hostess how many were in our party. We wanted to sit upstairs for the view. She said there was nothing available at the moment. But she would let us know when something became available. I asked if she needed our name. She said no we don't take names. After seeing a party our same size come in and be seated we realized it was a first come first serve basis. She never told us this so we were waiting for nothing. After being seated our drinks were served and our waiter disappeared for a while. The tea tasted like coffee. The crab soup was horrible. The food was served 45 mins after ordering and 1hr 30 mins after arriving. We asked what was in the vegetable medley and were told I don't know. When asked it the waiter could find out he came back and said papaya and some other stuff. We thought that's weird because that's fruit no veggies. Later we saw a dish with veggies and found out they actually had veggies not fruit. This whole night was a nightmare. No one seemed to be knowledgeable about anything. The hostess and the waiters answers to most questions were I don't know instead of let me find out. When telling the manager the complaints she said " we gave you a free queso & chips" like this is going to make things better. Free food does not make up for bad service!! The only good thing about it was the view.

The drinks here are very weak, the management here is very rude and snarky... and the food isn't good! What seafood place on an island doesn't have local shrimp? Save your money and go somewhere else. Cute location - bad everything.

We love Blue Water. The food is always awesome, the happy hour is just as good. Staff is the best in the business around these parts. They always greet you with a friendly smile and hello, and the owner remembers our name even if we haven't been able to make there in six months or longer. Great food, great drinks, and great Southern hospitality!

I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant. I have visited on many occasions and been pleased with the ambiance and wait staff. I was shocked to be escorted out because one of the males in my party had no sleeves on. We were being walked to our table when a waitress stopped us and was shocked we were let in. I have never been so disrespected.. and unfortunately will never visit Blue Water Cafe again or bring my guests. It was an extremely embarrassing experience and i only wish we would have noticed the small sign saying "No sleeveless shirts". So sorry you will never receive our business again. Perhaps in the future you will find a better way to manage your partially exposed males. Of course, tank tops are always acceptable for females. We took our business across the street to Brogen's where they were happy to serve us.

I lived right next door for a year and this place was always great to grab a drink. The food was a bit pricey and there is no consistancy to it. Hard to run a place like that. The music was horrible and whenever I asked to change it they said the owner will not let them change it. A great place for the view and the drinks. The Hostesses are always very friendly wether you are just walking buy or stopping in. My favorite item is the buffalo shrimp, but you dont get enough for the price. My tip to managment is to cut a lot of items off the menu stick to a few items you do good, get bartender that has skills and turn on some more upbeat music, watch the people roll in it would be the best place on the island.

Had dinner and drinks at the Blue Water during our recent trip. Ambiance - Sit upstairs! the lounge area upstairs had great views of the Pier, and the surrounding bay. Other than that, the overall feel of the restaurant was your typical bar...nothing special. Food - Average and pricey. Oysters were expensive, even for "out-of-season". Ship and Grits were "eh"...grits were runny, and the "red eye gravy" was pretty non-existent on the plate. The Ahi Tuna entree came out well done...not the way you serve tuna. very dry. Service - Server was great. Very attentive and kept our drinks filled. Bill for two people ran $90, with tip...pretty expensive for the type and quality of fare served. You are definitely paying for the ocean view at this tourist trap. There are far better restaurants to experience during a trip to the island.

We found this restaurant on Yelp and went because of the reviews. We found the view from the upper room bar quite nice and the service was great. The food was at best average. Can't imagine we would eat there again. Might go for a drink but not a meal.

Great atmosphere upstairs & very good conk fritters! Bad sewer smell after the rain but I gave them some tips to fix that. Great place to go with your sweetheart.

Tried to have lunch there Mother's Day Weekend 2013... Make sure you wear a shirt with SLEEVES! We were immediately denied at the door for having tank tops on. And no, these were not "wife-beater" tank tops but nice, name brand tank tops. Anyway, the hostess was so intent on us not coming in she wouldn't even let me go upstairs to inform my mother that we had to go to a different restaurant. HOW RUDE!!!! ON MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND! I can understand that for dinner you would want your guests to wear shirts with sleeves but not during lunch, especially being a "Cafe" beside the pier in a beach town.

The view is great and the service was above average. The mahi mahi was delicious and a real piece of fish, not a pressed fish stick from sysco And sides were great. Get the creamed spinach!, Good steak Sammy! Oh, and the beer is cold!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
